Greetings from my next big adventure. I just closed on 23 acres of mountain property in the mountains of Central Washington.
The property is totally off grid at the moment. The only water and power I have is what I bring or make myself. I haven’t fully walked the property yet, but with Verizon service, I am able to get cell phone service up there and very limited 4G Internet service. I never upgraded to an unlimited plan so I don’t surf the web very much up there. That frees up a lot of time that can be better spent on much needed.
The nearest town is a 30 minute drive down a rutted dirt road that probably will not be passable once the cold winter weather really sets in. Rainy season has just started here so how much I can get done before I leave for the winter is probably on the “Not Much” side. Believe me, there is much to do too.
The previous owner (or his heirs because he died a couple of years ago because it looks like somebody somehow has been living up there recently) didn’t have a high regard for neatness and a very high tolerance for roughing it. To put it nicely the land could easily be mistaken for the town dump or a hillbilly meth lab operation.
I’ll keep checking in whenever I get into the town coffee shop. More pictures to come as I get them sorted and reduced for the internet. I did an initial walk through video and posted it to my youtube channel so you can see what is ahead for me.
Later.
Very interesting. I cannot wait to read and see progress.
Hehehe … Ohhh my … Wow … you’re not going to get bored with all that work to do. A big adventure awaits!!
Welcome to the mountain, neighbor….from Meo and Kjell.?
Welcome to the neighborhood…frome your friends up on the hill…Meo and Kjell.
Thanks Meo, I couldn’t have asked for better neighbors while I try to figure out my little challenge(s)
Oh, you’ll figure it all out. We are still learning stuff after 10+ years! ?
