Far From the Human Race

Property View Big Pic
Greetings from my next big adventure. I just closed on 23 acres of mountain property in the mountains of Central Washington.

The property is totally off grid at the moment. The only water and power I have is what I bring or make myself. I haven’t fully walked the property yet, but with Verizon service, I am able to get cell phone service up there and very limited 4G Internet service. I never upgraded to an unlimited plan so I don’t surf the web very much up there. That frees up a lot of time that can be better spent on much needed.

The nearest town is a 30 minute drive down a rutted dirt road that probably will not be passable once the cold winter weather really sets in. Rainy season has just started here so how much I can get done before I leave for the winter is probably on the “Not Much” side. Believe me, there is much to do too.

The previous owner (or his heirs because he died a couple of years ago because it looks like somebody somehow has been living up there recently) didn’t have a high regard for neatness and a very high tolerance for roughing it. To put it nicely the land could easily be mistaken for the town dump or a hillbilly meth lab operation.

I’ll keep checking in whenever I get into the town coffee shop. More pictures to come as I get them sorted and reduced for the internet. I did an initial walk through video and posted it to my youtube channel so you can see what is ahead for me.

Later.

Me and Trailer
Me and the trailer and side room.

Trailer Living Room
This is a VERY unpermitted side room to the trailer
Shed
A little shed. At least it is relatively dry. (and Welcoming)
Dilapidated Shack
A Very Unsafe 2 story shack that somebody was living in. Looking forward to demo day on this one.
Junkyard Gully
Somebody hauled all this junk up the mountain just to throw it in the gully. ???????
